Dog Day at the Butchers

A dog walks into a butcher shop with a purse hanging around his neck. He takes a number and calmly waits in line, the man behind him watching him curiously.

When it's the dog's turn, the butcher leans over the counter and asks the dog, "what'll it be today?"

The dog put its paw on the glass case in front of the ground beef, and the butcher says, "How many pounds?" The dog barks twice, so the butcher makes a package of two pounds ground beef.

He then says, "Anything else?" The dog points to the pork chops, and the butcher says, "how many?" The dog barks four times, and the butcher makes up a package of four pork chops.

The dog walks behind the counter, where the butcher takes the appropriate money out of the purse and puts the bag of meat in the dog's mouth.

The man behind the dog in line, who had been watching all of this, decides to follow the dog all the way to his house. The dog walks up to the door and scratches on it to be let in. When the owner opens the door, the man calls out to her.

"I tell you, miss, that is one smart dog you got there," he says. "I have never seen a smarter dog."

"Oh, he's not all that smart," the owner replies. "This is the second time this week he forgot his key."
